Bring Out Your Dems

Monty Python puns aside, our friends and counterparts in Clear Creek County organized a Rally for Democracy on Saturday August 11. Ten of us from the GilpinDems showed up to support the Clear Creek Dems and participate in the excitement. Since discussion of crowd size is currently in fashion, we estimate that there were 150 people at the rally.

We had a chance to see Congressman Joe Neguse, State Senator Dylan Roberts, Senate candidate Judy Amabile, as well as Lesley Smith (HD49), Kathy Gebhardt (State Board of Education) and several candidates for offices in Clear Creek County. As we chatted with volunteers, we all agreed that the excitement level is high. Scott Mangino, Vice Chair of the Colorado Democratic Party agreed and amplified our excitement by saying, “I’m hearing the same from counties all over the state”.

In another show of enthusiasm, we held an organizing meeting earlier today. In addition to ten of our regular party members, ten people who have never volunteered to participate with us showed their commitment for the duration of this this election cycle. That does not include a few others who were unable to attend! This is an amazing show of support and we are confident that this will continue into November!
