Our Values
The Gilpin County Democratic Party is committed to transparency, accountability, and giving people in the community a voice. We seek to build a democracy that reflects equitable treatment for all, defends against oppression, and maximizes participation in our civic institutions. We seek economic opportunities to expand local businesses, protect workers, and preserve the environment.
We value diversity and believe that everyone should be treated fairly and equally under the law, regardless of race, ethnicity, religion, age, gender, sexual orientation, or disability. We renounce hate and violence in all forms. We support the right for all to have: quality education, access to safe and secure voting, fundamental freedoms, reproductive rights, and non-violent forms of protest.
The Gilpin County Democratic Party promotes candidates with public sector experience and strong financial management skills, and who value:
Public safety and first responders in the community
Economic development for locally owned businesses
Healthcare, childcare and community support services
Our Community Center and other facilities that enhance our community
Quality education for children and equitable working conditions for teachers
