Food Pantry!

 The Gilpin County Food Pantry was founded approximately 25 years ago with Gilpin County Democrats always supporting it. Initially, we hosted food drives but the need skyrocketed when the pandemic hit. Since then, we’ve organized drive-through food drives to make it easier (and safer) to participate in supporting the food pantry.

The Gilpin County Democrats and many of its individual members have taken the continued needs of the food pantry as an ongoing project.   As an organization, we have gone on shopping sprees, sponsored salad fixings for the holidays, and prepared individual bags of vegetables to be distributed with holiday boxes. We have many members that regularly volunteer at the pantry, unloading trucks, stocking shelves, collecting and bagging pet food, and whatever help is needed.

As a group of like-minded people, we enjoy working together knowing we are helping our neighbors that might be experiencing food insecurity.
